CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL FLORIST

Jerrica Parks CPF of Boulder Blooms, one of our newest Certified Professional Florists:
"I was drawn to CPF because it is going to be a nationally recognized program. AIFD recommends starting with state certification. CPF is not just based on design concepts and skills. It covers merchandising, order taking, and training employees. My customers can count on it for quality control. Plus it's great for anyone who wants to meet and connect with industry peers."

  • ~ Catastrophic Storm Damage at Stevens & Son Arvada Facility
10:20pm, July 21st. A violent hail storm rips through 125,000 square feet of the Stevens & Son facility located at 14022 W. 54th Ave. shredding property and emotions. According to owner and FAR Board Member Bruce Daniel, "Our vendors and customers and fantastic team of associates all pulled together in the tragedy. By 9am we had trucks on the road delivering product to FAR members. Customers drove 35 miles to bring us cinnamon rolls, vendors set up hot meals and a former floral employee called to volunteer on the clean-up crew. I think that says something about our industry."

  • ~ Chinese Bark Taking Bite Out of Business
DWF Denver Manager Phil Borrego was called out of a recent FAR Board meeting with USDA officials waiting for him. They were there to quarantine baskets which had a prohibited strip of bark from China woven into the top portion. "We knew about this", Phil explained. "It just slipped by our vendor. We were all surprised."
