2015 2nd Quarter Review ~ FAR welcomes THE SCHOOL OF FLORAL ARTS We have a new school in Colorado. THE SCHOOL OF FLORAL ARTS is having an amazing opening year. Weekend hands-on workshop "Pods" have been a great success. Participants have come from all over Colorado, including Aspen and Vail, Colorado Springs to Greeley, and as far away as Indianapolis, Indiana. Several designers have returned for second and third weekend workshops to further their design skills and inspiration. "Smashing Success!" was the parking lot discussion after the Wedding Specialist Pod. Some of the Pods (weekend hands on workshops) we have featured: "Wedding Specialist" "Corporate Design" "Elements and Principles of Design - Steps to AIFD and CPF Certification" "Gregor Lersch Inspirations" "Holiday Décor" Plus, we have just completed our first 5 week course for new designers. "This is my happy place," was a favorite participant comment. Another 5 week class begins September 21st. We will cover everyday design, weddings, flowers to wear, events, sympathy and corporate design, as well as the basics of running a floral business, how to work with your clients, how to plan and order and make a profit, and how to have fun in the floral industry! Upcoming pods include: Gregor Lersch Inspirations on September 18th - 20th (Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday) Holiday Décor on November 6th - 8th (also Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday) We have also received requests for another Elements and Principles of Design - Steps to CPF Certification Class which we will present on September 4th - 6th. Ernie Schafer - will present information on the importance of business insurance and how to buy business insurance. This is an important program that we all need to see. Tom Bowling AIFD, CFD, PFCI - is returning for another high energy presentation for our afternoon show. Tom will be sponsored by Syndicate Sales and showcase many of their amazing line of products. Bridal Bouquet Design Contest will be at the Expo again this year. This contest has been a great success. Start thinking about design ideas now so you can enter the contest.
